Explore Croatia Sailing Routes
The route shapes your sailing week: where you start, which islands you visit, how long you spend under sail and how much time you have ashore. Use this guide to see how routes differ, then tell us your dates and we will suggest options that fit.

What makes routes different
Routes in central Dalmatia share the same waters, so the differences come down to a few practical things:
- Distance and time under sail. Neighbouring islands are often a few hours apart. A route that reaches further out, towards Vis or Korčula, means longer passages on some days.
- Number of stops. More stops means more variety and more time packing up and moving. Fewer stops leave longer mornings for swimming and longer evenings ashore.
- Towns or quiet bays. Some routes spend most nights in busy harbour towns such as Hvar or Split. Others favour village quays, small coves and nights on a mooring buoy.
- Fixed plans. A few routes are built around a set event, activity or overnight stop.
The destination guides describe each island and town in more detail, including how yachts usually arrive.
Choosing a route
A few questions help narrow it down:
- How much time do you want to spend sailing compared with swimming, eating and exploring ashore?
- Do you prefer lively towns with restaurants and bars, or quieter places where the evening ends early?
- Do you need marina facilities most nights, such as showers and shore power, or are you happy at anchor?
- How comfortable are you with the plan changing at short notice?
If you have accessibility needs, a medical condition or any special requirement, ask before you book. Space on a yacht is limited, and some stops involve stepping on and off from a tender or a narrow passerelle. Our guide to accessibility on sailing yachts covers what to ask.
Weather, wind and route changes
Every route is a plan for good conditions. In summer the Adriatic is usually settled, with a northwesterly sea breeze, the maestral, building through the afternoon. Stronger winds such as the bura and the jugo can still arrive, and they change which harbours and bays are safe or comfortable.

Before you book
Once you have a route in mind, send us an enquiry with your dates and group size. We will reply with a written quote that sets out the price, what is included and what is not. If you are new to sailing holidays, how it works explains the booking steps and what happens on board, and the safety page explains how the week is run.
Common questions
Is every stop on a route guaranteed?
No. Stops are planned, and the skipper can change the order or replace a stop for weather, sea conditions, harbour availability or safety.
How much sailing is there each day?
It depends on the route and the wind. Most days combine a few hours under way with a long stop for swimming or lunch.
Can I choose the route?
Tell us the islands you would like to see when you enquire, and we will suggest a route. Changes once on board are the skipper's call, and on cabin-based trips the plan is shared by everyone on the yacht.
