Editorial Policy

We use official and primary sources wherever they exist. For weather, winds and sea conditions, that means national meteorological and hydrographic services. For park fees and rules, the national and nature park authorities. For entry requirements, maritime rules and safety, the relevant Croatian government bodies and EU sources.

Some details change often: fees, ferry timetables, opening hours, festival dates and entry rules. We avoid quoting exact figures for these and link to the official source so you can check the current position yourself.

We list the main sources at the end of each guide.

We say a guide has been reviewed by a specialist only when that review has actually taken place. Guides on health, safety and legal topics give general information. They are no substitute for advice from a doctor, a pharmacist, a lawyer or your skipper's briefing on the day.

Some of what we write comes from sailing these waters ourselves, and some comes from research and from information supplied by others, such as marinas, park authorities and tourist boards. Where a guide draws on personal experience, we say so. Where it relies on research or third-party information, we make that clear and name the source where we can.

Pages about our own trips, such as routes, yachts, dates and prices, describe what we sell. The written terms you receive before paying take priority over any web page. If you notice a difference between the two, please tell us.

Croatia Sailing Week sells sailing trips, and some pages on this site promote them. Our guides aim to be useful whether or not you book with us.

We do not accept payment to include or rank a business in our guides.

We review guides regularly and update them when we learn something has changed. Each guide shows when it was last updated.

If you find an error, please tell us through our contact page or by email at info@croatiasailingweek.com. Include the page address and what you think is wrong. We check every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
